As you are drawing you will be inspired by the Blue Dot Ensemble which will be playing music from around the world with the amazing Iana Komarnytska dancing and bringing the music to life! Followed by some Folk, World Grooves by The Lauren Barnett Free For All. 

We will be setting up collaborative drawing tables and will have tons of markers, pencils and crayons to express yourself on paper while listening to some sweet tunes!

Through Time:  Exploring Music, Dance, Poetry and Imagery from the 13th- 17th Century

“Through Time” is an exclusive performance piece developed for the Ismaili Centre Toronto.  The Blue Dot Ensemble will take the audience on a musical expedition from the 17th to the 13th century showcasing the rich multi-cultural interconnected traditions of the Near East to the West.  The evening performance will explore centuries of music, dance, poetry and imagery from Ottoman court dances to early music inspired by the poetry of Rumi and Hafez.

Ottomania - The Blue Dot at Burdock

Influenced by the vision of a shared world culture, The Blue Dot connects the dots between traditions from different corners of the planet, using art, sound and movement as a guiding compass. The show on May 26th will celebrate music and dance traditions of Turkey, featuring our guest percussionist Mehmet Akyazi. We will also explore songs from the Middle East, Greece, Bulgaria and Iran.

The musicians of The Blue Dot band are playing at Harem vol 19, promoted by Mahasti - The Bellydance Emporium in Hamilton, Canada.

The show features dancers from Toronto and Hamilton dancing to live Arabic and Turkish music by our band, in an intimate setting at the Casbah Lounge. We'll also have Paul Georgiou from Troupe Obskurah as our first guest musician.
